I’m Tovie and In literacy Today we had to write a great beginning. We used our knowledge that we learned in t-shaped Literacy to help us write a hooking and interesting beginning to target our readers into wanting to read more. So here is my Great beginning and I hope you like it .
5:30pm 11th February wednesday 1925
“Hey Kira Honey,” my mother said, happy to see me again.
“Hey Mama, how has your day been?”
I replied with a smile “It’s been alright. I thought about Dad again,” she said sadly.
“Hey, I bet he’s somewhere eating Bounty bars,” I said, trying to lighten her mood.
“Yeah.”
Two years ago, my dad was out fighting the aliens on the gruesome front line. He died for a very noble cause. Just before he died, he left me great responsibility, to protect just like he did. Especially Mum. Me and mum eventually found Base 13, no one else was there, so, we claimed it. It’s now our home.
“Oh by the way honey, any scratches today ?” my mother asked me.
“Yep, one scar just across my arm but it will be alright,” I reply.
“Well as long as you’re okay, then I’m okay,” my mother said to me.
“I also caught three Rabbits for food and two buckets of water, so we will be okay until Friday,” I said to my mother.
“Alright darling.”
7:00pm
“Mama dinner’s ready,” I yelled out.
“Coming Kira hon, What did you make?” my mother replied curiously.
“I made Pumpkin soup and skillet bread Ma.”
“Yummy, I’m excited to eat!”
After Dinner
“That was delicious Kira,”
“Thank you mother, I learned from the best,” I replied.
my mother giggled softly “Thank you sweetie,” my mama said with a smile
“Alright mama, I’m tired, I’m going to go to bed,” I said to mum with a yawn.
“Alright honey so will I, I’m just going to take my meds,”
2 minutes later
“AAHHHH,” my mother screamed a blood curdling scream.
“MOOOM.”
Reflection-
I think this was a pretty cool task to come up with a random theme and then turn it into a great beginning and so this task overall was pretty awesome.
